The craft of being in your own solitude minus the loneliness – that’s something more impressive beyond having money. It’s when you can give yourself a hundred percent even though you’re surrounded by love and support and learning to drive through obstacles or finding another road – all by yourself.

It requires you to put yourself as a priority and you see nothing wrong to be selfish. Dreams, happiness, and freedom aren’t meant to be compromised. These are just some of the few things that matter more than settling in a relationship such as getting rid of toxic people and avoiding them to stay longer in your life. You’re strong enough to know that being with them is just a complete waste of time. Having independence also entails being comfortable doing things on your own. You are able to sleep, eat and live alone. You work your ass off. You enjoy #adulting things like cleaning the house, doing the grocery, making dinners. You follow passions and you decide on your own because you don’t live for anyone. You’re proud of yourself for chasing after your wildest dreams.

I learned mine a few years back. I learned to depend on no one but myself no matter how hard it was. It’s when you’ve got to hustle because there’s no room to slack off. Yes, you have your family, friends and some may even have partners. But let me tell you this again, you only have yourself at the end of the day.

Try to detach to the people around you at least once in your life and you’ll discover the beauty of your own independence. You’ll be surprised at things you never thought you could do, on experiences you never thought you can and pieces of knowledge you learn along the way. You will also realize that your struggles will end but another one will come, but this time, you’d be tougher and wiser to face it instead of previously trying to run away from it. Healing, like learning, isn’t just a phase, as it is more like an ongoing process or a work in progress. It’s something you have to keep doing regularly in order to promote your own self-growth.

Keep hustling and embrace your freedom while it lasts!
